Since 2005, British Insurance has been a market leader in the provision of Redundancy Insurance (also known as Unemployment Insurance). This bold statement is not unfounded Company rhetoric – their claim is based upon feedback from third-parties where they have been recognised and rewarded for the contributions they make to this sector.
When British Insurance set about launching their business, in order to gain permission to use the word ‘British’ in their Company name they had to demonstrate pre-eminence in their field, via supporting evidence from third-parties. Very few businesses are allowed to use ‘British ‘in their title, so this was a great accolade for them. Even in the early days, they appreciated the important role endorsements play in building a Company’s reputation.
British Insurance continues to strengthen their pre-eminent position and reputation for fairness, honesty and transparency by putting products, staff and processes under third-party scrutiny. This ensures any bold product or service level claims are substantiated by external feedback, rather than in-house observations.
As a result of this ongoing scrutiny, British Insurance has won, and continues to win, more awards than any other Redundancy Insurance provider. They have received awards for their customer focus, service, insurance provision and distribution, online expertise, ethics and corporate social responsibility, plus been recognised as an outstanding ambassador and consumer champion.
In 2006, British Insurance’s first Best Insurance Broker award was given to them by Mortgage magazine when a 21-strong broker and Independent Financial Adviser panel agreed their portfolio, customer service and online tools were better than others.
Four awards followed in 2007; Mortgage Introducer magazine recognised British Insurance as Best Mortgage Payment Protection Insurer and Best Insurance Broker, What Mortgage presented British Insurance with their Best Mortgage Payment Protection Insurer accolade and Mortgage Strategy agreed they were the Best Insurance Distributor. British Insurance were also ‘Highly Commended’ in the Insurance Times Best Personal Lines Insurance Broker category.
For the majority of these awards, nominations were from magazine readers or independent financial research specialists, making British Insurances success even more gratifying.
In 2008 British Insurance picked up six awards. These were from; Mortgage Introducer – Best Mortgage Payment Protection Insurer and Best Insurance Provider, What Mortgage – Best Mortgage Payment Protection Insurer and Best Overall Insurance Provider and the Personal Finance Awards – Excellence in Customer Service and Outstanding Consumer Champion.
The judges, again mainly readers, singled out their ability to provide an extensive and socially responsible portfolio, coupled with outstanding customer care, technology and support services. And having won the awards the year before, it was particularly pleasing to take the top accolades a second time.
However, British Insurance did not and does not, take these awards for granted. They recognise that in order to be shortlisted, their products must continue to meet the changing needs of consumers and so be more inclusive, our customer service levels must be outstanding and the purchase process should be simplistic. Equally, they will continue to advise consumers about this cover, in order for them to make an informed decision before committing to purchase.
British Insurance’s strategy to consistently refine and develop their portfolio and processes, coupled with ongoing staff training and a desire to inform consumers, appears to be reaping rewards. In 2009 they were given 11 awards by magazines and independent business organisations.
They comprise; Mortgage Finance Gazette - Best Insurance Provider and Excellence in Treating Customers Fairly, Complete Guide to Homebuying, Mortgage Introducer and What Mortgage - Best Mortgage Redundancy Insurance Provider, What Mortgage - Best Online Insurance Provider, Investment International and Mortgage Introducer - Best Overall Insurance Provider, Global Business Excellence - Outstanding Consumer Champion, Best Business - Outstanding Personal Achievement and a British Business Award.
These awards not only pay tribute to British Insurance’s portfolio and the way they run their business, but acknowledge their efforts to abolish anti-competitive practices in this sector and recognise their desire to ensure all customers are treated fairly when buying this cover.
In some cases, it has taken the top slot three years in a row, which is testament to its resolve to maintain their market leading position via a competitive portfolio with extensive support services. Feedback suggests they ‘outshine competitors’ and they are hopeful this will continue.
Already this year British Insurance has picked up five accolades. The roll call for 2010 so far is; Crème de la Crème Awards - Inspirational Business Leader, Mortgage Finance Gazette - Best Overall Insurance Provider and Ambassador Award and Personal Finance Awards - Excellence in Customer Service and Outstanding Online Insurance Provider.
The numerous awards British Insurance has won over the years, speak volumes about their Company, the way they work, what they offer and how they treat their customers.
